THURSDAY HAPPY HOUR
Tonight sees another Quartet Happy Hour with three jackpots allocated to races at Angle Park and Dapto. The Happy Hour starts a little later tonight at 6.58pm and finishes up at 7.41pm. This week the Happy Hour highlights are the SA National Distance and Sprint Finals.
AD6 – 6.58pm – National Distance (SA) Final (731m) – approx $5,000
Est pool $30k
The controversial Distance series culminates tonight and the super classy SATANIC CASH (8) couldn’t be better placed to win and represent his state in the Group 1 final. His record at the track is impeccable and from his 11 starts over this trip he has won 9 times and finished second on the 2 occasions. The bonus of his favourite box just ads further salt into the wounds of the others that will be chasing his tail. The next best greyhound is ELLA FAIR (2) who finished 12 lengths behind SATANIC CASH in her heat. She is in top form over this journey and looks a perfect anchor for the place. TAFARI BALE (6) will get back and run on from this box draw as he did in the no race last week where he finished a number of lengths behind the winner HANNAH’S JINX. He has been one of SA’s better stayers for some time now and it would be fitting for him to run a place again tonight. These three greyhounds are easily the 3 main players and the whole field could finish in the fourth spot of the quartet with perhaps SOPHINA BALE (1) standing out for those wanting to play this quartet really skinny.

This is a nice Oaks final and track experience at Dapto will prove to be important. The classiest greyhound of the field is FANCY MANDY (8). She appeared a little flat last week but she was first up after almost 2 months off and if she has trained on well from that run she is easily the quickest of this field. MORE SPACE (1) is drawn well on the fence and she can hold the lead on the first turn and prove very hard to run down. She has a good record here and it would not surprise to see her land the win. The other heat winner CERTAIN MAGIC (6) was very impressive last week and she also has the necessary early speed to be up near the lead early on, if she can sit second or third she also has the strength at the business end to be running over the top of them. REGAL CHLOE (4) and LIZZIE TAYLOR (7) both look like they will be safe chances to run on into the placings especially if they repeat their solid efforts that they showed last week in the heats. The whole field is capable of finishing in the fourth spot so playing the field in a flexi would be a wise option.
Quartet selections (listed in order of preference)
Winners: FANCY MANDY (8) & MORE SPACE (1)
Each Way: CERTAIN MAGIC (6)
Best Place Chances: REGAL CHLOE (4) & LIZZIE TAYLOR (7)
AD8 – 7.41pm – National Sprint (SA) Final (515m) – approx $5,000
Est pool $30k
Winning form is good form and there are a number of greyhounds coming into this competitive final with winning streaks. BOOZEROO (2) has really hit her straps and she will be looking to bring up win number 8 in a row tonight. Last week she began well but was headed in the middle stages before running away with a 29.63 victory. A similar run is expected tonight and the inside draw will suit her. Drawn on her immediate outside is the speedy beginner TOMIC (3) who tends to get off the rail slightly in his races and it might be just the break that the likes of BOOZEROO will need to see the bunny in the middle stages of the race. He is however quick enough to lead these all of the way and he also ran 29.63 in his heat win last week. WHERE’S PANCHO (4) will be looking to bring up win number 6 in a row and he was also ultra impressive leading all of the way in his heat. With so much speed going into the first corner he could be the one to cross the inside division. HAYDEE RAY (1) should be able to rail up nicely behind the speedsters on his outside and from the great draw a placing in the back end of the quartet is certainly on the cards. These 4 greyhounds have the inside draws and appear to be the best chances to win but this final is very open and it would not surprise to see any of the greyhounds drawn out wide finish in the placings also.
Quartet selections (listed in order of preference)
Winners: BOOZEROO (2), TOMIC (3) & WHERE’S PANCHO (4)
Best Place Anchor: HAYDEE RAY (1)
