THURSDAY HAPPY HOUR

SHE AIN’T LATE (8) is having her first start from the pink box but with the way she is jumping there is no reason to suggest that she cannot lead all of the way again tonight. Last week she went 29.74 and the week prior she went 29.66 so she is certainly quick enough to take this out. The Graeme Bate trained IRMA BALE (2) will get back in this but from this good rails draw expect to see her finishing this race off powerfully when it matters. Her recent Horsham wins suggest that this race is not beyond her. CHILLY BABE (1) was a surprise winner last week but she has come up with the red box this week and as a result should be shown plenty of respect. HANIFY’S HEROINE (3) is a speedy beginner and if she is able to find the front she could prove to be a tricky one to rundown. Definitely look to include her in wide bets for the win. The rest of the field is rather open with perhaps CHIC SHIRAZ (5) appearing to be the only runner that may struggle to be competitive in this.
Quartet selections (listed in order of preference)
Winners: SHE AIN’T LATE (8) & IRMA BALE (2)
Each Way: CHILLY BABE (1) & HANIFY’S HEROINE (3)
Best Place Chances: Field – 5
AD8– 6.41pm – XMAS Sprint (515m) – approx $5,000
Est pool $35k
KALDEN MAYHEM (1) will be well fancied in this race from his favourable box draw but he will need to rely on plenty of luck due to his tendency to begin slowly. If he gets a clear run at them on the back straight then he should prove to be way to strong. KALDEN AURORA (4) is resuming from a spell after falling at her last start but her form prior was top notch and if she is mentally right she could easily make this a winning return. GOOSEBUMPS (5) returned to her best form winning in a time of 29.79 last week and if she gets a bit of luck from this tricky draw then she can certainly figure in the finish. Both WHERE’S PANCHO (2) & RAWSONS REASON (3) have been in solid form of late and are both drawn well. Both can win this with the right runs so try and keep them safe for the win in wide quartet options. The greyhounds drawn out in boxes 6,7 & 8 will have their work cut out for them so look to include them in the back end of the quartet for a place only.

BOGIE KING (1) returns to QLD after making the final of the Christmas Gift down at Wentworth Park and he has come up with the sort of box draw that should see him mighty hard to beat. ISO OCTANE (7) just keeps on winning here and he shapes as the main rival to BOGIE KING. He has won 12 from 14 on the track so despite this wide box he has to be included for the win. MERCY RULE (2) has placed at her last couple of starts and from this suitable inside box draw she will certainly be pushing for a spot high up in the placings. CITI HAWK (6) has also been ultra consistent of late and even from this wide draw he has to be shown plenty of respect both as an each way winning chance and definitely as a place chance. Play wide in the back end of the quartet and introduce the field for 4th.
