DYNA TRON (7) is absolutely flying at the moment and despite getting rundown late in the final of the Brisbane Cup last start he should be able to dominate these. He is very quick out and from this wide box draw he will get plenty of room to wind up and win. The smart Tasmanian LIKA WHISPER (1) has won 5 from 6 here and even though he disappointed last start he should be respected and will be up there battling it out for a place. He can get a bit wide though so keep this in mind. The Queenslander COAL KING (6) has shown plenty of potential and he would not have been sent down here if they do not think that he will be competitive. He could get a good run across with the favourite so definitely include him for a place. Both ALLEN LAWSON (5) & LORINGO (8) look to be the next best and it would be wise to include these 2 runners in the back end of the quartet.
Quartet selections (listed in order of preference)
Winner: DYNA TRON (7)
Best Place Chances: LIKA WHISPER (1) & COAL KING (6)
Place Chances: ALLEN LAWSON (5) & LORINGO (8)
MD8– 6.35pm – FFA (515m) – approx $5,000

SPRING SPECIAL (1) was very impressive winning here last week from this very box in a quick time of 29.41. She has the box draw to do it again tonight but she does face a steep rise in class. The speedy beginner ZIPPSTAR (4) will be looking to lead this race and with a railer drawn on his inside he may get a nice cart into the race. He is capable of running good times so definitely keep him safe for the win in this. The strong DYNA MORRIS (5) is going to need a bit of luck from this tough box draw but if he is able to get a good run in behind the speed he could finish over the top of them. WHERE’S DEMONICA (6) has not been finding much luck of late but from out here in this field she could prove to be a potential knockout chance. Try to keep her safe in wide novelties. Both CROSSFARNOGUE (2) & BLOSS’S BENSON (3) are getting on in years but from their inside box draws they are both more than capable of popping up in the back end of the quartet.
Quartet selections (listed in order of preference)
Winner: SPRING SPECIAL (1) & ZIPPSTAR (4)
Each Way: DYNA MORRIS (5)
Knockout: WHERE’S DEMONICA (6)
Place Chances: CROSSFARNOGUE (2) & BLOSS’S BENSON (3)
OD8– 7.08pm – Hobart Thousand Heat #6 (461m) – approx $5,000
Est pool $35k
The smart Graeme Bate runner DAVID BALE (1) has been in fine form of late running quick times in Victoria and from this perfect box draw despite having his first start down here he should just be winning this. In what is not an overall strong heat the local chaser WANDY NEG (8) appears to be the most likely to push the favourite in the one box. He has won 4 from 6 here and must be respected. The other Victorian chaser MISS ROMAN NOSE (3) is a very quick beginner and she has raced here in the past at the beginning of her career winning an impressive 4 from 4 at this track. She could prove to be the knockout winner if she finds the early lead and there is trouble behind her. Beyond these 3 it is very open and playing the field would be a wise option.
Quartet selections (listed in order of preference)
Winner: DAVID BALE (1)
Each Way: WANDY NEG (8) & MISS ROMAN NOSE (3)
